Reginoal Competitions, Feb 09.

The Following Students Qualified for the National Finals in Blackpool.

Sarah Armstrong won the Nail Art Competition.

Sophie Turner was 3rd in the Nail Art Competition.

Kirsty Goodman was 3rd in the Blow Dry Competition.

The Team also qualified for the Nationals at Blackpool.

AHT Competitions.

The Regional Competitions are to held at The Federation Brewery, Gateshead on Monday 2nd Feb.

Any student wishing to enter needs to complete an indemnity form and contact any of the Hair & Beauty Team to register for the appropriate competition.

Registrations are due before the end of this week (Fri 16th Jan).

East Durham College students enjoyed an excellent trip to the Salon International hairdressing exhibition at Excel in London.

The day started bright & early at Durham Train Station.

This is the largest hairdressing exhibition in europe and students witnessed numerous demonstrations by all of the big names in the hairdressing industry.

We will be returning to Durham Train Station on Monday evening at aprox

11.00pm

Please arrange own transport to and from the train station.

• a packed lunch

Army Activity Day At Houghall.

Hair & Beauty students (and staff) enjoyed a thrilling team building field trip on The Army Activity Day at Houghall.

Activities included paintballing, assault courses, mountain biking, bungee running, army laser and various other team building exercises. The inclement weather didn't spoil the fun....it merely ensured that everyone got as wet and dirty as possible.

New Build Up-Date!!

Some of the H & B team had a tour of the new building recently. They were absolutely amazed at how magnificent it was....particularly the Hair & Beauty Department. One commented, "It has really wetted our appetites, I can't wait to get in!"
